Senior Manager of
Workforce Development

The Senior Manager of Workforce Development is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and operational oversight of workforce development, training and adult programming. This role supports effective program execution and helps ensure consistent delivery of services that promote career readiness, workforce training, and employment pathways. ​

Working under the direction of the Director, the Senior Manager plays a key role in aligning workforce and youth initiatives, strengthening cross-program collaboration, and supporting participant transitions into education, training, and employment opportunities.

Essential Functions

Program Operations & Coordination 

  • Coordinate workforce development to align with organizational priorities and community needs.  

  • Oversee day-to-day program operations to ensure effective and consistent service delivery across workforce programming.  

  • Manage coordination of career readiness workshops, internships, workforce training activities, leadership development sessions, postsecondary initiatives, and employment support services for youth and adults.  

  • Supervise assigned staff and support workflow coordination, scheduling, and program communication.  

  • Monitor program performance and contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen participant outcomes.  


Training & Facilitation 

  • Develop and facilitate workforce readiness workshops, career development sessions, and skill-building trainings for youth and adults in both in-person and virtual settings.  

  • Create and maintain training materials including facilitator guides, presentations, participant resources, job aids, and workshop content.  

  • Adapt training methods and materials to meet the needs of diverse participant populations.  

  • Identify training and professional development needs that support program effectiveness and participant success.  


Employer & Community Engagement 

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, educational institutions, workforce system partners, and community-based organizations.  

  • Coordinate internships, apprenticeships, work-based learning opportunities, and employment connections for participants.  

  • Participate in workforce partnerships, community engagement activities, and collaborative initiatives that support program goals.  

  • Represent the organization at workforce development and community engagement events as needed.  


Data Management, Reporting & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate participant records, program documentation, and data tracking systems.  

  • Coordinate data collection and reporting activities related to grants, compliance, and program performance.  

  • Prepare reports, summaries, and program updates for leadership, partners, and funders.  

  • Utilize program data to support evaluation, reporting readiness, and continuous improvement efforts. 

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, Communications, or a related field preferred.  

  • 5–7 years of experience in workforce development, youth development, nonprofit programming, training, or related fields.  

  • Experience supervising staff, coordinating program operations, or managing workforce and youth initiatives preferred.  

  • Experience facilitating workshops, trainings, or group sessions in both in-person and virtual environments.  

  • Strong communication, organizational, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.  

  • Experience supporting workforce or youth programming and community-based initiatives.  


Preferred

  • Experience in workforce development within nonprofit or public sector settings.  

  • Experience with program tracking systems, reporting platforms, or workforce databases.  

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.  

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple programs, departments, and external partners.
