About the event
The State of Black Greater Philadelphia report, Advancing Community-Centered Solutions for Economic Mobility, is The Urban League of Greater Philadelphia's first since 2007. It publishes online on Tuesday, December 8, 2026, at 9:00 am ET, at urbanleaguephila.org/stateofblack.
Ten contributing essayists write across six drivers of economic mobility: a stable home, a job that pays, an education that leads somewhere, a real second chance after prison, access to capital, and the health to see it all through.
The in-person launch celebration is the 24th Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Community Empowerment Luncheon on Friday, December 18, 2026, at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, program at 11:30 am.
