Youth & Education Coordinator
The Youth and Education Coordinator will play a crucial role in the development, implementation, and management of youth-focused programs at the Urban League of Philadelphia, specifically the Project Ready Mentor Program. The coordinator will collaborate with the Youth Programs Manager to ensure that all youth programs run effectively, align with organizational goals, and meet the needs of the students. This role requires strong program management skills, community engagement, and the ability to support students and mentors while building partnerships with local schools, community organizations, and businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development & Implementation:

Assist in the design, planning, and execution of youth programs that align with organizational objectives and funder goals.

Support the Project Ready Mentor Program, collaborating with schools to offer CTE (Career and Technical Education) credits or extracurricular recognition.

Ensure the delivery and implementation of curriculum for youth programs and mentoring activities.
Student & Mentor Engagement:
-
Recruit and maintain strong participation among students and mentors.

Act as a liaison between students, mentors, parents, and partner schools, ensuring regular communication and addressing challenges as they arise.

Manage mentor-to-student ratios and coordinate light-touch mentoring activities like service learning projects and site visits.
Program Administration:

Coordinate all logistics for program sessions, events, and field trips, including scheduling, communication, and transportation as needed.

Assist in the collection and management of program data, tracking student participation, progress, and outcomes for accurate reporting to funders and stakeholders.

Maintain and update the Project Ready Mentor Data Management System.
Partnerships & Community Engagement:

Cultivate relationships with schools, community organizations, and local businesses to enhance program delivery.

Help organize and promote youth-focused events such as “behind-the-business” tours, speaker events, and leadership summits.
Support & Reporting:

Collaborate with the Youth Programs Manager to prepare and submit reports to funders and other stakeholders.

Assist in the preparation of grant applications, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and data reporting.

Support administrative functions including budget preparation, invoice processing, and general program documentation.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

2-3 years of experience in coordinating or managing youth development, mentoring, or education programs.

Strong program management skills, including scheduling, logistics, and resource coordination.

Experience building and maintaining community partnerships with schools, organizations, and businesses. Familiarity with data management systems and experience in tracking program outcomes and reporting to stakeholders.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse youth populations.

Cultural competency and experience working in diverse urban communities, with a passion for supporting underserved youth.
