A signature program of the National Urban League, Project Ready currently enrolls 2,000 students at 27 Urban League affiliates nation-wide. The Urban League of Philadelphia is proud to participate in this program that offers proven results, helping students achieve academically and set their sights on college.
Project Ready is an after-school program for Philadelphia high school students. The program is held at The Urban league of Philadelphia offices, located at 121 S Broad St 9th Floor (North American Building), on Mondays & Thursdays.
Project Ready provides:
- A community of support for all post secondary and career aspirations
- Awareness and discussion of social development issues
- Assistance and advisement for aspiring college students
- Information about local internships and career opportunities
- Kuder Navigator program and curriculum
Students enrolled will receive access to the Kuder Navigator Career Planning System. Using Kuder, students will take an interest and skills assessment. Using this information, Kuder will guide them through a process to research colleges and other post secondary options, fields of interest, majors, scholarships and financial aid, and career trends.
Project Ready invites guest speakers to share stories of challenges and successes in their lives and answer questions about achieving goals. Speakers have included former Super Bowl NFL linebacker Lee Woodall, FBI agents, Phillygoes2College and Rising Sons.
The program includes visits to local college campuses, including Community College of Philadelphia and Peirce College.
