Project Ready is a signature program of the National Urban League. This initiative is designed to prepare high school students for college and career. Nationally, the program enrolls 2,000 students at 27 Urban League affiliates.
Project Ready is an in-school program for Philadelphia high school students and is currently working at schools within the School District of Philadelphia.
The Project Ready curriculum is comprised of three broad learning areas: Academic Achievement, Social Development and College/Career Readiness. Within each learning area lessons, activities and specific learning objective are provided to guide each educational workshop.
Project Ready provides:
- Community of Support for post secondary and career aspirations
- Awareness around social development and civil community involvement
- Guidance for college process and admissions
- Access to internships and career opportunities
- Access to Kuder Navigation*
Project Ready also invites guest speakers to share stories of challenges, achievements, and successes with the students. Past speakers have included former Super Bowl NFL linebacker Lee Woodall, FBI agents, Phillygoes2College and Rising Sons.
