Volunteers

Volunteering for The Urban League of Philadelphia provides an opportunity to work with other Urban Leaguers and make an impact on the community. Volunteers enjoy a high level of satisfaction as they interact with all levels of urban society.

In 2012, ULP volunteers helped us get out the vote as part of our Occupy the Vote campaign. Before the Presidential election, hundreds of volunteers made phone calls urging citizens to register. The Sunday before the election, we held our “Get Out the Vote” rally at the National Constitution Center, featuring singer Vivian Green and actress Kim Coles. We are proud that our efforts resulted in higher than average voting by the African American community.

The Presidential Election is over, but our “Occupy the Vote” initiative continues. We will be recruiting volunteers throughout the year to promote voter registration and educate voters about the new Voter ID laws that will be taking effect in Pennsylvania.

Help Occupy the Vote.
