The 2018 Empowerment Dinner is the highlight of the year.  This year’s Empowerment Dinner theme is “Empowering by Education”. Mayor Jim Kenney, Dr. William Hite, superintendent for The School District of Philadelphia and Matthew Stem, the Deputy Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education (state of PA) will address the state of public education. Stephanie Andrewlevich will be recognized for her outstanding work as principal at the Mitchell Elementary School.  Fifty-one (51) scholarships will be awarded to local high school students to assist with their college education.

This annual event allows us to honor businesses and individuals in the community who display outstanding leadership and exemplify Urban League values of diversity and inclusion.
